MSc Position in Plant Breeding and Genetics

An M.Sc. graduate student research position is available in the asparagus breeding program beginning January 1, 2020.  The objective of the thesis project will be to conduct Genome Wide Association Studies for economically important traits with molecular markers derived from Genotyping by Sequencing methodology. The genetic architecture of traits and potential for marker assisted selection will be determined.

The student in this position will be part of a research group actively engaged in traditional breeding, and projects to enhance cultivar development.  This will afford opportunities to gain broad experiences beyond the designated research project.
