"Science and Plants" Science Fair

"Science and Plants" Science Fair participant and judgeThe Department of Plant Agriculture and Canada Blooms were pleased to host the first annual "Science and Plants" Science Fair on Saturday, March 7, 2015 in the Bovey Greenhouse Cafe. The range of contestants spanned Grades 5 to 12 and came from London, Guelph and the Niagara Region. The winners from this competition will have their posters displayed next week at Canada Blooms.  A special awards ceremony will take place for the winners on the final day of Canada Blooms on Mar.22.

We would like to thank our judges: Hugh Earl and Al Sullivan from Plant Agriculture and Margaret Taylor from The Garden Club of Toronto for taking time out of their weekends to support this endeavor.  We would like to also thank our sponsors Landscape Ontario and OAC for financially supporting the event.  A special thank you goes out to the OAC liaison team of Carleigh Johnston and Karen Nelson for organizational support, to Varsha Jaysankar and Jaysankar Subramanian for Science Fair logistics support and to  Lisa Pascoe and Jacqui Miller for Canada Blooms organizational support.
