OAC Inaugural 3MT College Heat Winners

Overview:

Congratulations to Amritpal Singh. Amritpal tied for 2nd in the OAC Inaugural 3MT College Heat. 3MT® is a university wide competition for graduate students in which participants present their research and its wider impact in 3 minutes or less to a panel of non-specialist judges. The challenge is to present complex research in an engaging, accessible and compelling way, using only one slide.

The winners are:

1st Place:    

Peter Park, Animal Biosciences – “Eliminating castration of male pigs through diet to control boar taint” 

2nd Place (Tie): 

Amritpal Singh, Plant Agriculture – “Propagating "Sweet" Trees”

           Amanda Armstrong, Animal Biosciences – “A Focus Farms Approach to Motivating Dairy Farmers to Continuously Improve Animal Welfare”

3rd Place: 

Quincy Buis, Animal Biosciences – “Developing Technology to Tailor Individual Diets for Group Housed Sows”

First and second place winners advance to the University wide competition March 23rd (from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. - Rm. UC 103).
