GCUOF Transformation

Overview:

In 2008, the Guelph Centre for Urban Organic Farming (GCUOF) was created at the University of Guelph.    This one-hectare farm was created to provide hands on learning for students interested in planting, tending and harvesting crops manually using organic principles.  The centre is now a field classroom for the Ontario Agricultural College students (OAC).

The GCUOF is also a living laboratory for research projects.  Students across many disciplines come to learn about sustainable food production, heritage seed production, permaculture, food security, fair trade and year-round food production.  The produce is served at PJ’s Restaurant on the U of G campus.

The transition has been well-documented by the GCUOF since 2008 and they have recently provided photos to show how the farm has grown over the years.  Click here to see the transformation for yourself!
