The 2013 United Way Fundraising Campaign has begun!!!

Overview:

The Department of Plant Ag is already off to a great start. This year, working along-side many volunteers, United Way coordinators, Dr. Ralph Martin & Maryam Vazin (MSc. Candidate) have some great events planned.

The "Everyday Coffee" station can be found on the 3rd floor lobby of Crop Science. Every morning and every afternoon there is fresh coffee and tea.  Cakes are available on Thursday - if you have not already had a chance to experience one of Elham's cakes - you are really missing out!!!   The price is great too, so be sure to grab your daily cup of joe!

United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin works to improve lives and build community - helping to support the communities in which we live including Guelph-Wellington, Bradford, Vineland-St. Catharines, Simcoe, K-W Region, and beyond. Last year an amazing $3.29 million was raised.

As a department, we have consistently exceeded the fundraising goals that are set and in 2012 we were the largest fundraising department in the OAC!  This is because of the passion and never-ending efforts of the volunteers who pull it all together and the department who generously donate year after year.

Wednesday, October 2 the Plant Agriculture United Way Committee will host it's International coffee/dessert break in the Crop Science building 3rd floor lobby @ 10Am.  There will be treats from all over the world, raffle prizes and door prizes.  Dave Wolyn, representing BIG BROTHERS & BIS SISTERS, will be the guest speaker.  The International coffee break is a fun way to spend some  time with our friends, enjoy some wonderful treats and to hear first-hand about an organization that benefits directly from the funds raised.

Together, we help tackle the biggest social problems facing our community.
