Building Knowledge Together Event

Overview:

Building Knowledge Together Event

Can you imagine a world without French fries? Potato chips? Poutine? Without potato farmers, you might have to! With climate change and the cost of production putting more and more pressure on farmers, local potato producers are asking: how do we keep growing your favourite foods?

Wednesday, February 1st
9:00 am – 12:00 pm
UofG Arboretum - free parking onsite

Hear from 3 Ontario potato growers who provide very different approaches to this question. Come for the discussion, and stay for free coffee and snacks!

Moderators: Dr. Jean-Charles le Vallée, IICA-Canada and Vanessa Currie, potato researcher in plant agriculture at UofG;

Presenters: Dr. Peter VanderZaag, large-scale chipping potato producer; Isaiah Swidersky, medium-scale organic producer; Ken Laing, small-scale ecological producer

Registration is free and open to all through Eventbrite:
