Plant Ag Family Picnic

Overview:

Guelph trial gardens

July 30th was a great day for a picnic. Last Thursday, Plant Ag's Social Committee hosted the annual summer event at the Guelph Turfgrass Institute, opting this year to forgo the barbecue for deluxe deli sandwiches - a big hit amongst the hungry crowd! A selection of potluck salads and desserts were also devoured by hungry picnic-ers.

Dr. Andy Gordon and Plant Agriculture technician, Rodger Tschanz provided informative tours of the areas they specialize in. Gordon lead one group on a tour of the bio energy and agro forestry lands, while Rodger Tschanz took a group on a guided tour of the Trial Gardens

Check out this video if you want to learn more about the biomass research Dr. Gordon talked about!

Kids and adults alike were all able to enjoy the fabulous day of food, socializing and games on the stunning grounds of the GTI.

A big THANK YOU to Clarence Swanton and to the rest of the social committee for your enthusiastic help in organizing such great event.
