Plant Ag MSc students Laura Ford and Travis Cranmer did us proud and each won an award at the Ontario Pest Management Conference (OPMC) which was held on November 7th. Laura (supervisor Peter Sikkema) won the best student oral presentation and Travis (supervisors Mary Ruth McDonald and Bruce Gossen) won the best student poster competition.

The OPMC, which was held at the Victoria Park East Golf Course, is a conference which is held annually in November.  It is a 2-day session to discuss crop protection progress, problems and priorities of the Ontario agricultural industry. The committee is comprised of members from the University of Guelph, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Agri-Chemical Industry.
