Location: University of Guelph, Cropping Systems Program
Join our dynamic team for a hands-on internship in the Spring/Summer of 2025, starting in late April and running until the end of August, with potential part-time extension into the fall. This is a unique platform to deepen your understanding excellent opportunity & gaining practical experience in cropping systems and agronomy.
Internship Highlights:
- Crop Rotation and Tillage Studies: explore the impact of integrating legumes and cereals into corn and soybean rotations.
- Cover Crop Research: evaluate the performance of various cover crops within rotation systems.
- Corn performance trials: test agronomic performance of corn hybrids in Ontario.
- Soil Fertility and Crop Nutrition: nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc in corn, soybean, and winter wheat.
Duties Include:
- Assisting with establishment and maintenance of research plots at Elora Research Station and on-farm trials.
- Conducting biomass and soil data collection, and utilizing sensors for biophysical measurements in field research.
Ideal Candidate:
- Currently enrolled and planning to return to school in September 2025.
- Holds a valid full Ontario Driver’s License (Full G) or equivalent. Having a personal vehicle is an advantage but not required.
- Previous research exposure, a background in farming, and experience with tractors/machinery are highly valued.
- Exhibits a strong work ethic and a cooperative team spirit.
