Vanessa Currie

Vanessa Currie

Vanessa Currie has been working with potatoes since 1989. She graduated from the University of Guelph in Biological Sciences and worked on Colorado Potato Beetle research with Dr. Mark Sears. She transferred to the Potato Breeding Program in 1990, and has been conducting potato trials ever since. She trained under Gary Johnston (AAFC) from 1990 to 1992 and worked with AAFC potato breeder S. T. Ali-Khan from 1992-1998. Current research is with Dr. J. Alan Sullivan (U of G). Vanessa loves working with potatoes, and has been described by Glen Squirrell, Vice-Chair of the Ontario Potato Board as “a real friend to our industry”.
