Double Haploids vs Haploids
Common Physical Characteristics of Canola
Double Haploids vs Haploids
Cell Size
Haploid canola tends to have smaller cells than double Haploid canola because they contain only half the chromosomes. The smaller cell size in haploid plants causes the development of thin stems with viny growth habit.

Number of Buds and Flower Size
Haploids have many small buds and small flowers. They rarely produce pollen. Double haploids have fewer buds but the resulting flower is larger in size and has all reproductive organs.
