Welcome our new GSLC reps!

Overview:

The Plant Agriculture department and the Guelph Student Liaison Committee (GSLC) are pleased to announce Jason Lemay as the new MSc representative and Rattandeep (Rattan) Gill as the PhD representative!

Jason is in his third semester, supervised by Dr. Mary Ruth.  He moved to Guelph 5 years ago to pursue a degree in Environmental Studies. Jason is now studying the Carrot rust fly (psila rosae) and looking to update our IPM strategies to improve the control of this pest in carrots.

Rattan started her PhD program at U of Guelph in Fall 2014, and is currently work with Dr. Jay Subramanian on a fruit breeding and genetics project.    She was the Plant Agriculture representative for the 2015 OAC-GSC Colloquium Planning Committee, and also served as the student member on the Plant Agriculture Seminar Series Committee last year. 

A meet and greet will be held tonight, Thursday, May 21, at 5pm at the Grad Lounge.  Come on out to meet new grads and GSLC reps, and feel free to stay for trivia at the grad lounge, from 7pm - 9pm!
