Ontario Hazelnut Research - Roots in Plant Ag

Overview:

Emma Drake, the Communications Summer Intern in OAC, has written a series of articles on the hazelnut industry in Ontario. The first two articles highlight research that is going on right here by members of the Department of Plant Ag.

In the first article, Opportunity Grows on Ontario Hazelnut Trees, Emma describes the work that Adam Dale has been doing to bring hazelnut production to Ontario.

The second article, Hazelnuts and Truffles a Winning Combination, highlights the research on different aspects of truffle production in Ontario's hazelnut orchards.  This is research being conducted by Charles Shearer, a master’s student in Plant Ag.

Stay tuned to the OAC News for other articles and a video on the development of a hazelnut industry in Ontario.

Funding for the series of articles has been provided by the W.S. (Stan) Young Memorial Communications Grant through the OAC Alumni Foundation.
