Overview:

Max JonesThis month, Dr. A. Maxwell Jones officially assumed the position of Assistant Professor, Integrated Plant Production Systems for Vegetatively Propagated Horticulture Species, at the GRIPP (Gosling Research Institute for Plant Preservation) within our Department.  Max completed both his B.Sc. & M.Sc. here at the U of G in Plant Agriculture, then completed his Ph.D. at the University of British Columbia.

Max brings a breadth of knowledge, experience in plant propagation, success with plant cell and tissue culture of difficult species, insights into plant development mechanisms and international experience, to his new role. Although Max is not new to our Department having recently held an NSERC Post-Doctoral Fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Praveen Saxena, we are excited about the new role he will play here as a faculty member and wish him well on this career path.

Please join us in congratulating him as you see him throughout the Department or pass by his new office in the Bovey Building.
